An ICT for development expert, Jenchat supports citizens’ access to improved public services through open governance and budget allocation activities, on accessible digital platforms.
Jenchat brings to Reboot eight years of experience working on international development programs. At Girl Effect, she was part of the core team that piloted a girl-led and mobile-based peer-to-peer research app called Technology Enabled Girl Ambassador (TEGA). Co-created alongside beneficiaries, TEGA integrates technology that operates in communities with limited network connections, and has since been adopted in Bangladesh, India, Malawi, Rwanda, Tanzania and the United States.
In addition to being a certified project manager, Jenchat’s contributions to the development field include using media platforms to advocate for citizen’s access to Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene services at WaterAid, and working with her teams to advance global public health and social justice campaigns such as World Water Day, World AIDS Day, and International Women’s Day. She is passionate about gender-related issues and the role that gender equity plays in development, which has been an integral part of her work throughout her career.
Jenchat has a Bachelors of Arts Degree in English Language from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. A native of Kaduna, she speaks Hausa, Nigerian pidgin, and a little bit of her native language, Jju. Jenchat enjoys traveling, dancing, and trying out Youtube recipes.
